I love it when writing fiction, you get to that point where youâ€™re no longer making the characters do stuff. They do it on their own. Sometimes those little hotheads will insist on doing things you didnâ€™t want them to do or didnâ€™t plan them to. I have a character who insists on being a prominent character, even though I was considering cutting him out of the story altogether since he was so minor.
Another cool thing about this point in writing is you really feel like youâ€™re discovering the story, not writing it. It flows better, it works better. Donâ€™t get me wrong, itâ€™s still a lot of work, but it is satisfying, not grinding.
